Our Mission:

  • Focusing on spiritual formation, accountability, mentoring and discipleship to enable and help grow today's youth into tomorrow's Christian leaders.
  • Preaching, teaching, leading and living the Christian life to excite and inspire our youth.
  • Teaching young people to understand and recognize who Jesus is, and what it is to live for Him!

Forgotten Virtues - Gratitude

View Corresponding Sermon Video

Have we become a generation that feels we are entitled? Are ever content in our circumstances, our finances or our relationships? God has blessed us and yet often times we don''t take the time to recognize it or even show gratitude for it. We complain way too much and really we have nothing to complain about. It can always be worse. If you have a roof over your head and you own at least one vehicle you are considered to be in the top 5% of the richest people in the world! How ungrateful are we? It seems that we have forgotten a very important virtue, the virtue of showing gratitude for what we have. In Luke 17:11-15 we see a story about 10 lepers who were healed by Jesus. Only one of them came back to thank him. This seems to describe our society today in America. We are a culture of ungrateful people who are always looking for more, better, faster and greater. Sometimes we just need to stop and smell the roses, count our blessings and give thanks. We need to humble ourselves and turn every blessing into praise that God pours out to us. If not, our blessings turn into pride and an attitude of entitlement. Instead, let us choose live with an attitude of gratitude no matter what may come. Will you be like the nine or will you be the one?
